FOOD
Food is so hard I tell families to do their research. I feed puppies Purina Pro Plan- Lamb and Rice. I feed my adults Purina One- Lamb and Rice. However, I never feed my labs Chicken products, as labs can be allergic to it. You may also need a slow feed bowl. I have below some fun ones my pups have enjoyed.
Raw Hide Bones-
Once again, I tell families to do what you think is best for your pet. I have been giving my labs raw ride bones for years no trouble at all. My dogs get a 4-foot raw hide bone twice a year, Christmas and their birthdays :) They also get 2 bones a week to help prevent teeth decay. I have attached the ones I use.
Puppy & Dog Toys
Toys can be a challenge as I have found that every dog will prefer something different. Some may like the soft toys; some may enjoy rope toys. When I bring a new puppy home, I purchase a puppy variety pack that gives the puppy options. This way I can find out what he/she likes before I purchase to many toys.
Treats
There are so many treats you can use, we use all of the following. Again, though I stay away from chicken products.
Dog beds & Crates
I recommend crate training even as the dog gets older and does not need the crate it will become a safe place for them to nap. I always told my kids if the puppy is in their crate than it is their time and they don't want to play. There are many different types of beds and crates you can buy for your pet. This is what I use and have found is worth the cost and the dogs like them. I have serval dog beds throughout my home, and all are different. I have found that the ones you can remove the cover and wash are the best as accidents happen from your pets or your kids using the pet beds :)
